4/28/2020 0 Comments Family Ties Hello Faith Walkers! I pray that your faith is still going strong during these uncertain times. I pray that you all are still seeking God, still praying, still trusting and still reading your word. God has given us so much time during this season to grow closer to Him and to spread the gospel. It is our responsibility to reach people and share the good news of Jesus.
This week, I would like to talk about family and how important it is to cover them in prayer. God has been dealing with me in regards to my own family and praying for them nonstop. Whether you live with your family or not, it is important to intercede for them. It is important to speak life into them. It is important to support them and give them advice when they need it. Another thing I have learned recently is the importance of being honest with your family and not being afraid to share with them things that God has placed on your heart. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been scared to hurt people's feelings. That would mean a lot of times I would go without saying a word. Then a friend of mine brought to my attention that not telling your friends or family the truth, especially something that will help their life, isn’t healthy. God honors family and honors the love that families have for one another. The devil is tricky and hates the idea of a loving family. That’s why he tries to attack family members. How does he do this? He will try to get children to rebel, parents to divorce, anger to build up amongst siblings, jealousy to creep in, etc. Satan will literally try and do everything in his power to get the family to divide, and so we have to rebuke anything and everything that is not of God that will try to come into our family! We must fight this spiritual battle with prayer and fasting, knowing that God will protect our families mentally, physically, financially and spiritually! Ephesians chapter 6 verse 11 tells us to, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.” If you’ve never read the entire chapter before, I advise you to please read it and read all about the different parts that make up “God’s armor”. We need it, not only fighting battles in our families, but in our jobs, this country and so forth. The devil tries to attack us and throw us off course but honey we serve a BIG GOD who works on behalf! This is war! Start pleading the blood of Jesus over your family. Here’s something to try. Get out your journal and write down every family member. Write down your prayer for each member and declare and decree that God will do what He said He will do over them. Even if you can’t physically touch them to agree, understand that they are just a prayer away. God hears your prayers for your family when you’re alone just as much as He hears them when you are right there in the same room. Pray for them when they don’t feel like praying for themselves. Pray for them even if they are not believers. Continue to share love and be a light in their lives. Show them that not all Christians are judgemental or hypocrites. Show them the love of Jesus. As always if you need prayer don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m praying for you all and I pray you have a wonderful week! God bless. I love you, Tyrah.
